Getting help
nextstep is a free friendly service that offers face-to-face help and support about training, learning and the world of work for everyone aged 20 and over. You can:
What advice is available?
Working with you individually, or in groups we can give you:
- personalised information and advice, or refer you to other sources of help
- tools to help you make decisions
- advice on what’s happening in the jobs market
- advice on ways to progress in your job and career
- help to link your personal interests to jobs and careers
- help you identify the skills you may need, including reading, writing and maths
- advice about financial support that may be available to you, such as the Adult Learning Grant
- advice about the services available during redundancy
- help and advice on searching and applying for jobs, such as writing a CV and interview skills
We can also help you to develop your own personal action plan that sets out your goals and the steps to get you there. Your plan will include details of other support and information to help you.
